A couple of veteran musicians should have had a much better 90's thanks to how they made their previous periods. Let's check Bowie's rival, i.e. Bryan Ferry, for that. True, he was already beyond their mutual 70's, since his 80's ended up being aesthetically better than Bowie's, though Ferry's 90's showed a fatigue he still hasn't completely recovered from. Then again, Ferry's persona reached a point on Boys And Girls, where that one should've gone somewhere else. Sure, his consequent records betray this observation as we can hear on the case of Mamouna. This is a Saturday night music for those who no longer go outside on that day. There's a sense of longing, which was always present with Ferry, yet he's not a participant anymore, he's an observer, keeping his thoughts to himself.
