Bear Grylls (Honorary Lt Col, Royal Marines) abseils the BT Tower on 10th March 2014. A team of celebrities, serving Royal Marines and BT people abseiled from the 31st floor of the iconic BT Tower, raising money for Sport Relief and the Royal Marines Charitable Trust. This is only the third ever time that the BT Tower has been abseiled and the event also marks the launch of the 350th Anniversary celebrations of the Royal Marines.

Man vs. Wild

As a single girl with a lot of free time on my hands, I often find myself collapsing on my sofa immediate after work and satiating my over-taxed mind with hours upon hours of inebriating television. 

Say Yes to the Dress?  Yes Please.  Real Housewives of New Jersey? Don't mind if I do.

But by far, the show that warms my heart ( and other parts- haha) more than any other is Man vs. Wild.  Ladies- if you haven't seen this show, or have dismissed it as a guy thing, take note. 

 I'm not even sure what the guy's name is on the show.    All I know is that he is hot, British, and extremely            manly. On one show, he killed a boar.                    With.his.bare.hands. OMG ( bites fist) He is everything    that most modern men aren't. Competent, capable, and  charismatic. My ex-boyfriend didn't even know how to  jump start a car.  This guy parachutes into the world's  remotest locations and survives for a week by creating  spears from bamboo stalks and starting campfires from  tree leaves and rocks. He is a MAN. 

Ultimately, I think what is so attractive about him is the security he offers. Like, if things really went to hell ( Armageddeon, I Am Legend, end of the world Hell), he would be the man you want taking care of you. Not that soft pansy in the office down the hall who can barely order take-out, much less survive the call of the wild.
