Still my favorite junior. If you haven't watched her routines I'd highly suggest you do so! To me, she has it all on this event. Difficult tumbling both from double saltos, back twisting, and front twisting. She's a good dancer and has lovely flexibility. She'll turn senior next year and I hope to see a team final floor lineup with her, Murakami, and Miyakawa.
@thehonoraryamerican Picking up our discussion about Riley McCusker earlier: It *is* possible to do a front 2/1 out of just a run with no handspring and have it look safe and clean and pretty. Mana Oguchi’s third pass in this routine is the same as Riley’s terrifying one but she actually makes it look really nice. (You probably have seen this by now but this routine is really nice in general so I recommend it overall)

SO excited for Gymnix
Mana Oguchi is going again for Japan and she’s my absolute favorite junior right now! This was the floor routine that she was attempting last year at the competition.
She managed to also score a huge 15.40 at a domestic competition in Japan later on last year (no video of it exists that I could find) and she’s pretty stellar on vault and beam too. Hope she does well!

Japan’s NHK Cup is the weekend of event finals, so don’t expect any of their top seniors to attend. However Mana Oguchi and Chiaki Hatakeda are expected to headline their junior delegation. China, North Korea, South Korea, India, on top of a dozen of other countries are scheduled to attend as well.
