💤 ㅤhow do they sleep? curled up, sprawled, holding onto something?

typically, alia will sleep sprawled out in like a weird half on her stomach and half on her side position, burrowing into the blankets and hugging onto her pillow. if she’s sharing a bed with someone, she unconsciously gravitates to them for warmth - she’ll drape herself across them like a weighted blanket, or latch onto them instead of the pillow.

💭 do they believe they’re worthy of being loved?

she does! and she readily accepts love and affection in return for what she gives, too, but she struggles with what others are willing to do for her out of love, like sacrificing themselves to save her.

🎱 ㅤwhat kind of future do they crave, and who’s in it?

alia really wants a sense of stability and permanence in her future, somewhere (and with someone….. if they ask her to stay with them….) that she feels rooted to, and to settle down from crisis-to-crisis to just exist. maybe travel when she feels like it, not because she’s needed to handle things.

3. What was the first thing you decided on, the character's name, appearance, personality or their role in the story?

Technically the first thing I decided is that they would be Viera, but before I had decided anything else about them I stayed up til like 3am combing through nameberry to find them a name. The only real guideline I had is that I wanted it to be long/multi-syllable which is really not that useful in narrowing things down lol. But I thought Corisande was really pretty and I had never heard it before, and I liked the greek origin of it but that it wasn’t like, a recognizable greek figure or anything. I didn’t actually anticipate that they would be nicknamed Cori but it’s cute to me so it’s allowed T^T

7. What is an aspect of their appearance that you like the most?

Their nose is my favorite 🥹 the kind of aquiline shape with the lighter bunny tip is so cute to me. also a big fan of their fluffy curly hair and the shape of their eyes!

19. What is your general favourite thing about the character? What is your least favourite?

My favorite thing about Cori is their kindness 🥺 it’s partly innate to them and partly borne of a lonely childhood that led to the conscious decision to treat other people with the kindness that only a select few people showed them. And it’s so essential to everything about them, everything they do comes from this place of kindness and gentleness.

My least favorite…idk, I love them too much!! I suppose my least favorite thing is that I still have a hard time writing their dialogue 😂 I have an idea of how Cori speaks in my mind but i find it sort of hard to describe to myself, I just have to type and retype til it sounds right to me

2. do you plan each chapter ahead or write as you go?

every so often I’ll get an idea that takes over so hard that I just write it all in one go, but that’s rare lol. I don’t like to plan too much, or else I’ll feel too restrained or lose interest in the process, but I do like to have a rough outline of moments or narrative beats that I’d like to get through.

16. how many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? share one of them?

TOO MANY!!!!! I’m a little overwhelmed by the full list of my various ideas, but only 3 are actually active wips at the moment.

however. I’ve been obsessed with the concept of d’alia and cylva in a howl’s moving castle + beauty and the beast but as a gothic romance AU. the shadowkeeper, the ascians’ curse, the laxan loft… do we see the vision…

40. if someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?

this might be cheating as an answer because kels and I have talked about the gpose potential of it before, but ngl I think the coralia kiss in sweet as honey would be so cute to see visually!!

Don’t know if you heard but they’re putting Destiny in maintenance mode, all expansions have been cancelled, doing layoffs, and won’t be immediately releasing “Destiny 3”

I saw! It's so messed up! I know Destiny was on the decline for a while with low player counts, but it just feels very abrupt? My brother, who has been playing since the D1 beta or whatever, is distraught…

The layoffs is especially fucked up! And apparently a lot of Bungie's devs had no clue it was being put in "maintenance mode" until it was publicly announced with news sites and accounts posting it... Absolutely criminal.

A Destiny 3 would be awesome. With better tech and a new story, they could have so much to work with and even the retired Destiny players would want to pick it up. But idk what Bungie is thinking anymore.

Maybe someone will grow some brain cells and we'll get D3 😭 We will mourn together for now though, Wrex.

5. What part was the hardest to write?

the hardest part of where the hurt nests to write was the argument on the beach in the part 3. it’s very dialogue heavy, which is usually the hardest part for me, and it took me a lot of time to work out cori’s responses to shtola—balancing her evasiveness and reluctance to answer with a bit of uncharacteristic annoyance and snappishness, and also what shtola can read of cori’s body language and emotions with her limited vision. i worked so long on it that i was worried it was going on too long! and while i was working on it i had to go back and fix things in the other parts because i realized i dropped some threads that i needed to weave into the argument. and also because it was hurting my feelings they were fighting 😭
