The experience of fear or anxiety in the mind and body can be extremely debilitating. The things that we fear whether they are conscious, semi-conscious or subconscious can lead us to experience unwanted physical sensations or emotions that can be quite unnerving and unpleasant...to say the least! As human beings, we will do much more to avoid pain than to gain pleasure and so our brains are wired to run like hell from the experience of fear. However, what happens when we cannot literally run away from our fears because they are mostly experienced in the mind? Unless we learn to face and embrace the experience of fear whilst managing our mental and emotional states...we will develop the fear of fear. Maybe it's time to practice building your sense of safety and resilience in a somewhat turbulent world so that you can be a beacon of calm for yourself and others.
