I am not certain what the current folklore may be, but early in the developing popularity of the Camino this refugio (as they were then called), without electricity or running water, was well known, as was its hospitalero, a man who claimed to be a Knight Templar. As we had spent the night in Rabanal and next planned to stay in Molinaseca, we walked past without stopping.
