Okay! I'm really excited to introduce you to...

Manatale!

Mana is basically magic in this Au. Everyone has nature based magic.

After the First Monster-Human War, Monsters weren't forced Underground. Instead they were trapped behind a barrier surrounding the forest in the shadow of Mt. Ebott. After their banishment, Mana that once freely flowed through the Earth, disappeared. Once Mana had disappeared Mages began to die out, fading from history alone with the Monsters.

After Monsters are freed, Mana once again flows freely through the Earth. Because of this Mana, Mages began to make a reappearance, their dormant magic building in their SOULs.

However... The sudden influx of magic was to great for the Earth to take and it spawed a massive magical storm that ravaged the Earth.

It stopped raining. Lakes and rivers began to dry. Crops were nearly impossible to grow. Humans blamed the Monsters and Mages for the catastrophe and declared war.

This is where our story begins...

Frisk (Nico) and Chara (Ari): Chara (Ari 14) is the older, more daring, outgoing, mischievous sibling. While Frisk (Nico 13) is the younger, shyer, more level headed (but no less mischievous) sibling. The pair of them are very adventurous and have explored many places, despite their young ages. They heard stories of the mystical forest all their lives, and after the deaths of their aunts, they set out to explore the one place they were forbidden to set foot in. They stumbled through the dense ever forbidding forest before Toriel finds them and leads them to safety. The "game" starts when they enter the forest. Ari, Nico, and Miach are taken in by the Royal Family after they freed Monsterkind from their eternal prison. They are now 19 and 18 respective

Kris (Micah): Ari and Nico's older sibling. Kris (Miach 18) always seems to get dragged into their misadventures. Stoic, quiet, somewhat detached, they can be hard to relate to when you first meet them. Once you get to know them though, they are more prone to show their mischievous side (They're also a huge freaking dork). They love their siblings very much. They're not very keen on physical touch most of the time. They are now 23

Sans (Ike) this quick-witted skeleton is a jokester at heart and always has a joke or a pun at the ready. Despite his playful personality, he knows when it's time to be serious. He's always ready with a metaphorical ear when one of his friends has troubles and is always ready with a smile and a joke to cheer them up. He is much hardier than UT!Sans and he has more endurance.

Papyrus (Arlo): Second command of the Guard and keeper of the puzzles. Arlo is driven, bright, and takes his job very seriously. Like his brother, though, he's always ready with an open arms and a shoulder if he notices someone is having a rough time. His main mission in life is to be kind and protect those who cannot protect themselves.

Gaster (Rune): Not much is known about the mysterious adviser and Royal Scientist to the Royal Family. He is quiet and methodical and, at times cold, but behind the aloof mask, every so often, you can catch glimpses of a caring father and devoted friend. He, along with a team of other brilliant scientists, erected a barrier to protect Monterkind from attacks by the S.T.E.M faction.

Undye(Moxie): After being blinded in both eyes during the second Monster-Human War she took Papyrus in as the second in command, hoping he could take her place as head of the guard one day. Although still headstrong and a bit reckless, she has become more grounded and even tempered after losing her sight.

Alphys(Lumin): While she's still shy as a mouse, she's much more outgoing than her UT! counterpart. Modest to a fault she's not one to brag about her various accomplishments. It takes a while to get her out of her shell but once she starts to trust you, you have a true and loyal friend for life.

Toriel(Florian): The Queen of Monsterkind and Wife of Ragnar. She runs a shelter for orphaned monster and mage children. Can cause all flora life around her to flourish with her magic. She's always willing to lend a paw to those in need, no matter what species. She has always been soft at heart and serious. She will not hesitate to fight for those she cares about. She can be cold to those that don't see eye to eye with her.

Asgore(Ragnar): The King of Monsters and Husband of Florian. He is a kind and fair ruler and father. After the Second Monster-Human War and the creation of the S.T.E.M organization his heart has hardened slightly toward humanity.

Asriel(Lucan): The price of monsters is a kind, gentle SOUL like his father. This teen has devoted his life to helping and protecting his people.

Mettaton(Allegro): he guards the Royal Lab (despite hating it).When he's not there he can be found at the Queen's orphanage, entertaining the children or performing on one of the many stages that call his name.

Monster Kid (Finn): Nico, Ari's and Lucan's best friend. The four of them have been inseparable since childhood. He's energetic, clumsy, and a bit reckless, but his heart is in the right place.

Reader: guarded and rough around the edges from years on the run. They feel it is them against the world and they don't make friends easily. Underneath that tough exterior though… they're understanding and compassionate. They just want to stay safe.
