Do you guys ever think about how Mermando was a 12 year old child and was married off to what looks like a fully grown adult woman manatee to avoid his country being ravaged by a civil war? That his country was going to be ravaged by civil war? This literal child with the political weight of an entire kingdom? Married? Child? Nobody else concerned here? Just me? Please? I’m not crazy right? This little boy who was convinced to tell Mable he was a merman because of a wet sandwich? This sassy little boy? Little child? He looks so uncomfortable in that photo.
I just- I- :( that’s a child- and I don’t even know anything about her feelings about this! They both look kind of miserable to me. They both just want to keep their kingdom from ripping itself apart and :(
He’s a child- 12! And he has to deal with all of this political conflict????? At 12???? This poor baby with his poor bride! She just got married to a child! He just got married as a child!

Maybe it was just a writing decision to add some conflict for Mabel, maybe it was stopped before the wedding actually happened, but- come on! And Mermando seemed to actually have feelings for Mabel in return, and he has to marry someone else? They were keeping in touch! Was this something he knew was coming? Something that was sprung on him? I have so many questions, this poor child should not be in that position! He’s 12! And she definitely doesn’t look like she’s happy with it either! Her name isn’t even mentioned!
