Qatar Petroleum will cede control of parts of the industrial city of Mesaieed in 2017 as the state-owned corporation restructures to focus on its core business at a time of low oil prices and increased competition in energy markets. Control of 200 projects in Mesaieed, a centre for petrochemical and oil refining activities 40 km (25 miles) south of Doha, will be transferred to Manateq, a state-owned company that manages Qatar's special economic zones in January.

Qatar Petroleumは同国の再編の一環として、同社がエネルギー市場でより競争力を強化し、低油価の中、コアのビジネスに注力するため2017年にMesaieedの産業都市の一部の管理を譲渡する。
Mesaieedの200に及ぶプロジェクトの管理はドーハ南部40ｋｍに位置する石油化学・石油精製事業で、カタールの説くべく経済特区を管理する国営企業であるManateqに譲渡される。
