Questions from manda-bear:
1. What are some of your favorite musicians and fandoms outside of kpop and kdramas? If you’re not into kpop anyway, what are your favorite fandoms and/or musicians?
-one of my all time favorite musicians is Celine Dion (and I have a long list of others but I feel like I would forget half of them trying to remember them all ^^;;) I remember when my mom first took me to go see Titanic and I fell in love with the ending song My Heart Will Go On (even though it's really sad). For my 8th birthday, my dad had gotten me her CD and at first I was always playing that one song while singing my lungs out and then when I got older, I started listening to all her other songs, and I just really love her. She was definitely one of my first music idol that I looked up to growing up :) As for fandoms, I don't really watch much TV so I'm not a part of any TV series fandom but I do watch a lot of anime if that counts, there's also a lot of serious shipping lol
2. Who is your ultimate bias and how did you determine that? (What made you fall for your ultimate bias?) Again, if not in kpop fandom, who is your favorite celebrity and why?
-Big Bang is one of my favorite kpop groups and it really is so hard to pick a bias from these 5 amazing guys. I love each and every one of them equally however, Seungri never fails to find his way to the top of the bias list. I feel that one of the reasons I find myself picking Seungri is because he was the member that wasn't supposed to be. He was cut from the group but was then called back again for a second chance to show all that he had to offer. Seungri is really an inspiration to me. He's always so hard-working, giving it his all, perfecting and polishing his skills in not only music/dance but his business and communication skills. He is the one who gets all the CF and sponsor deals for BB, is completely fluent in Japanese and has ventured into the TV Network System in Japan all on his own to promote BB. Although he is the youngest he is the most matured, constantly looking after his hyungs and staff members. There is no BB without Seungri has GD has said many times before. Also, his personality is just so loveable--he can be sweet, cute, dorky, adorable and yet sexy and confident at the same time and his voice is just the perfect mix of soft/soothing vocals--a sweet lullaby. Whenever I feel like giving up on chasing certain dreams of mine, I think of Seungri and I say to myself 'he never gave up on his and neither should I' and I pick myself right back up. It may sound a bit strange to some but both Seungri and BB are the light of many of their fans and that giving up on your dreams is not an option, they are one of my greatest inspirations :3
3. What’s your favorite holiday and why?
-Christmas is by far one of my favorite holidays. But it's not my favorite because of gifts and glamour, but because it's my mom's most loved holiday--she acts like such a little kid, getting excited over christmas lights, decorations/scenery that you can see her eyes sparkle with joy and happiness, and also because she loves snowy weather :) My mom is a kid at heart so seeing her getting excited over little things like this make me happy, especially since she is not in the best health but always tries her best to make the holiday season happy and delightful for our family.
4. Do you enjoy homemade cooking or eating out better?
-Definitely enjoy homemade cooking (and baking because I love to bake too lol) I think anything homemade is worth so much more because you made it on your own and made it with love, especially if the dishes you made were done together with your family. It's okay to eat out once in a while, like for special events or even big parties/get togethers/reunions but homemade cooking is just more special in my opinion. :)
5. What would you do if your bias was your new next door neighbor?
-I would probably make some nice homemade goodies and go on over and give them to him to make him feel welcomed :O [besides the fact that on the inside I would be doing back flips and fluttering at seeing him open the door and seeing him smile, trying to fight the temptation of suddenly hugging him and yeah lol]
6. How do you spend your free time? (Besides using tumblr.)
-I usually spend my free time either reading a book/manga or writing stories, but most of the time I spend it going on food adventures in the city or just go to my favorite park and write since ideas tend to come to me more when I'm outside than when I'm at home.
7. What are five things you are grateful for currently in life and why are you grateful for them?
1. My Friends and Family: because no matter what happens, we're always there for each other and we always pull through, even if it's not easy. When I wanted to go into the health profession, I was overwhelming happy that my parents supported the career path that I had chosen because for a while I was confused about what I should do with my life and when I figured it out, it was an amazing feeling knowing that my parents were supporting my decision every step of the way.
2. My dog: I know many people probably would not list their pet as something they are grateful for but I believe that animals can have some of the biggest influence on people and their emotions so I'm going to say my dog. Teddy is 8 years old now. I got him when I was in the 7th grade and at the time I had lost my grandmother to cancer. She passed away in November and we got Teddy six months later. It was unexpected, we weren't looking to get a dog just yet, but that day we were coming home from the visiting her grave and saw a pet shop sign saying that the store now sell puppies and we decided to go in. The minute I laid eyes on the little white fluff ball inside the pen (where visitors can interact with the dogs and such before deciding) I just fell in love. And of all the puppies that were in that pen, he looked at me from a distance before he came running up to me and starting going around my legs. After much thought and seeing how much of a smile he brought to my face, my parents and I decided to get him. Sometimes I feel like this was just meant to be and it felt like he had chosen me--as if he felt a mutual connection and came to me. I know it probably sounds silly but Teddy has been the best companion I could ever ask for. He's comforted me when I've been sad, when I've cried my heart out, shared in my joys and happiness--he is my little bundle of joy--he always sleeps with me and no matter how bad my day has been, the minute I walk through my apartment door, he's right there jumping around, happy to see me home and it just instantly brings a smile to my face to come home and feel his warm welcome :3
3. My best friend from high school: because we can openly talk to each other about anything, even if its weird/gross, and whenever I'm feeling down she's always there to snap me out of it and even though she only likes girl kpop groups, we can still understand these 'feels' and she still listens to me when I fangirl over BB, and we can just talk for hours on end, sometimes going from a perfectly formulated conversation to something completely random and silly and never get tired :3
4. My VIP Fandom/Tumblr community: It still amazes me all the wonderful people that I have met on here--how we can share the same feelings for the things we love and still talk about many other things in general. Tumblr community, all my followers, is definitely my second home.
5. My hardships: oddly enough, I'm grateful for the hardships I've face because they've made me the person I am today. I don't think I would be as strong-minded/will had I not gone through them
8. What type of traits do you look for in a best friend?
-someone who is always willing to listen to matter what the topic is--for example, even if we have different tastes in music or hobbies, they will still like to hear us talk excited about it, even if they are not too into that, someone who is kind and understanding, someone I can be myself around and can really trust--it's a little hard to list traits like this because to me, when you just have that one friend you know you can always count on--it's something that you can feel, a special connection, I don't know that's just me, kind of hard to explain...I'm just weird like that lol
9. Do you like video games? If so, which kind do you like or play and how often do you play?
-well the only game systems I grew up having started with the game boy color. I had that first, followed by the game boy sp (that little compact one) and then my uncle had gotten me the very first DS that had came out (which I still have :O) so most of my games are gameboy/ds games, but my favorite to play on those systems are the Pokemon games. I don't watch the show anymore, although I still do collect the movies, but I'm a big Pokemon fan, especially with the games, makes me feel like I'm becoming a Pokemon master lol every time I get a new game, I play with it for about 4 hours non-stop (pokemon really gets addicting >_>) but once I get stuck I give it a break, somewhere around two weeks or so before going back to it, then after that I play with it a little more slowly, playing for an hour, maybe a little less to make the game adventure last longer \^O^/
10. What season of the year do you enjoy most and why?
-fall into winter is my favorite season time, it's not hot or humid, and you have to wear a light jacket as it starts to get cooler, and there's this really crisp aroma in the air--I don't know how to describe it, but I like it a lot--especially how it feels when it's about to snow ^^
11. Have you traveled outside of your country? If so, where? If not, where would you like to travel?
-I've never been outside of the U.S. but I would like to visit other places. My top two would definitely be Japan and South Korea. There are also a few others but I would like to visit these two first as I have always wanted to go to Japan since I was younger and I would really like to explore both.
Thank you for tagging me <3 sorry it took me a while to finish this, your questions were very thought provoking so I wanted to answer as best as possible :3
