With starting a new job in a different city I will soon be looking to move closer to work. In anticipation of this I moved all the stuff I had in storage locally to a new facility roughly closer to where I will eventually end up. So today I enlisted my parents and my brother to assist me in that big move. It took two trips, a lot of traffic, some cursing, and massive exhaustion all around, but we eventually got everything moved and settled. After everything was locked back up on top of simply saying thank you I took everyone out to the Mandarin restaurant for some lunch/supper to show my appreciation for the assistance. So we took the time to sit and chat, while refueling and recovering from the ordeal, until it was time to get back on the road and head for home. Today’s random act of kindness: showing appreciation for the hard work of others.

After much confusion and frustration a few of my nieces, nephews, and I were able to make a plan to go out to dinner together. To add to the confusion and frustration our original restaurant choice was over an hours wait for a table, and our second choice was shut down, unknown to us until we got there. Finally, we settled on a third place, still an estimated one hour wait, but by this time we were starving and tired of traveling around, and so we waited and chatted in the meantime. We were seated well within an hour and had a delicious meal while continuing to catch up. In the end what started off as a frustrating night ended up being a great time. Today’s random act of kindness: sticking out the tough times and catching up with family.

So thank you to the Mandarin Restaurant, you were able to give us a great night after so much craziness.
