my dnd character is so fond of kicking people in the balls that "unarmed strike" is synonymous with "kick that guy in the nuts" in my group
"i roll for unarmed strike!"
my dm: "for god's sake that is the 4th time this session"
(ps: it's mostly just one of my party members)
(also: my dnd character is a skeleton so i made this)
@blackmirrorwrites,
merry christmas, my love!!! I haven’t talked to you in a while, but I hope your holidays are going well and that you like this little gift I made for you and our babies.
"you had me at hello" (for any ship bc i love u)
girl yk damn well the first time mandy laid eyes on jack that girl had to swallow so her throat wasn’t dry as all hell. he was probably coming out of the pool or something and she was heading out and oh god probably slipped on some water, and he caught her and she was pressed up against his bare chest and she could feel how cool and damp he was, and he made some joke about might as well taking her top off now since she’s all wet and she blushed and all she could think about was how fast her heart was fucking racing and how weird it is to have cameras all around to capture this moment.
❝ What happened to your hair? Hold still, I’ll just… Fix it for you. ❞ ( jack x mandy )
Mandy’s hand flew to her hair, as if she’d somehow forgotten the tumble her and Jasey had taken down the stairs. With nowhere to go and nothing to do, mattress surfing seemed like a good idea. Her elbow protested that it hadn’t been, but for all the bruises across her butt, it’d been pretty fun. Nothing like something she would have done back home. After, when Jasey and her had dragged them all the way back upstairs (which was nowhere as fun), she’d been about to redo her hair, maybe jump in the shower when Mera had come barrelling through, cheeks flushed, to tell the rest of the girls that the boys were making pancakes. Shirtless. Which shouldn’t have been that exciting, but Jasey had started a bet over who was bound to get burned first, with that much bare skin, and so nearly all the girls had clustered round the kitchen, waiting to get served, waiting to win.
Mandy hadn’t officially joined the bet, but her money had been on Jesse. He seemed like the type that was bound to spill something eventually and regret it. While she couldn’t imagine that he was her perfect match, she had to admit he was pretty adorable. He told jokes, had a quirky smile and appeared harmless. The kind of guy that wouldn’t break her heart. Yes, Jesse was definitely cute.
But not as cute as Jack.
She smiled as his fingers brushed through her hair. Normally pulled back in a braid, even as she slept, she watched him undo it without protest, the locks falling to surround her face. Through them, she was able to catch his eyes. Behind her, Mandy was aware of the rest of the house, laughing and joking, playfully ribbing one another. Couples flirting, their bodies turned towards one another, attraction like heat rippling off their bodies. She wondered if that same visual applied to her and Jack.
He liked her, she could tell that much. When their gazes connected, she could feel it everywhere –– everywhere. From the bottom of her stomach, to the hairs on the back of her neck. Everywhere.
Glancing away, only for a second, she snuck a look at their reflection in the oven door. The girl in the glass had her hand on the kitchen counter, one leg wrapped around the other like she had to use it to keep herself in place. Like if she were given the chance, she’d take off and do all sorts of crazy, wild things that her parents would definitely not approve of. At first, there was a twinge of worry, but it was largely overshadowed by a zing of excitement. Mandy could deal with the aftermath of having fun for all the world to see later. Ten weeks later, to be specific.
She turned away. Her cheeks heated once she realized where Jack’s eyes had been. Had he been watching her watch them? Possibly, they’d been on her before she’d caught him. On her… body? Tan stomach exposed for all to see, she’d forgotten she was still in her nightclothes. She went to pull down her tank top but that only tugged the neckline down. It was a lose-lose situation. The lacy top of her bralette peeked out. If Mandy wasn’t mistaken, Jack’s lips perked up.
Alright, maybe it was a lose-win. Or a win-win.
“Thanks,” she laughed nervously, once she remembered how to speak. “Jasey and I were mattress surfing down the stairs a little bit ago. I was talking to her about how I always wanted to do that cause’ of the Princess Diaries… You’ve seen the Princess Diaries…. –– 2? 2, yes. –– you’ve seen it right?” She paused, and before she could chicken out, went for it: “We’ll have to watch it sometime, once we’re out of here.” Casually, or what she hoped was casually, she added, “I hope the Perfect Match suite has Netflix.”
CUT TO: “I’m usually never that… forward with a guy. I don’t know what’s come over me.” A pause. “But I think he likes it… I think I do too.”
