“i don’t need anything from you. i’m doing well on my own.” i hiss, ignoring your tears before catching myself— getting up to check on the kids when i hear them stirring. sakura seems wide awake and i pick her up before she can disturb her siblings.

“your...your mom has the kids on wednesdays if you’d like to see them but, only go if you’re planning on staying in their lives. they don’t need you to leave them a second time.”
