Every successful goal I’ve achieved has followed what I call the Sex Scandal Technique. For example, when most people decide to become famous, the often do what everyone else does: go to Hollywood, try to meet people, work on their script, etc. But Kim Kardashian found a faster way: sleep with someone famous, make a sex tape, get famous.

Feeling Unproductive? Hire Someone to Slap You

What to do when you're feeling unproductive? Take a walk? Take some Adderall? Not blogger Maneesh Sethi, who instead hired a girl off of Craigslist to slap him any time he got distracted by Reddit or Facebook or something else on the internet instead of doing work.

After some research, Sethi discovered the average human is only productive three days a week. And the application RescueTime Sethi installed on his computer proved he was only productive for 38% of the day. Ouch.

After putting up an ad on Craigslist for a Slapper ($8/hour), Sethi saw his productivity increase up to 98%. Why? It wasn't just the constant fear of getting slapped-- Sethi explains it was nice to "have someone to bounce ideas off," and by having somebody else aware of what he needed to accomplished, it made his goals feel more tangible and real.
