“Don’t do anything stupid, that’s the only rule.” Such was the first sentence that left Q’s mouth as the vampire climbed into the passenger seat of his car, the warning blurted out before he could even take his hand off of the door handle. These kinds of warnings were entirely necessary when it came to Jaehyun, Q found. They were necessary for a lot of the members of his gang, truthfully, as inconvenient as that may be. But what had he expected when he assembled his closest peers with the most unhinged people he could possibly find? Stupid things were bound to happen sometimes. At least if he issued a warning, they could anticipate the threatening glance he’d inevitably send their way afterward.
Jae was much like an annoying little brother that he had to let tag along with him and his friends every so often just to get their mother off his back– except that he wasn’t his little brother at all, and Q didn’t have anyone above him to tell him how to treat the members of his gang. So why did he let Jae tag along on so many of his excursions? Well, the answer was simple, and that was that it really made no fucking difference to him at all. No matter what it was he was trying to accomplish, the vampire wouldn’t pay a single bit of attention and would usually just wander off to do Satan knows what. If anything, it was nice to have him in earshot just in case he might need backup. Nobody suspected the easily distracted overgrown toddler to be capable of damage. To be fair, nobody really suspected Q capable of damage either. Such was the basis for all of Veritas’s endeavors, apparently.
