Destination Drum Circle, Episode 5: MANGLA DAM This event is special in itself~ How far can you take your imagination? How far can you chase those distant beats of drumming? We are taking you to a place not-so-far, but yet serene in its own true way. Settling down amidst the water on a raft, saying goodbye to the setting sun, we will echo with the sound of drums. Join us on 20th February, as we set off to Mangla Dam, Ramkot Fort and River Rafts to visit history, nature and one’s own self in a wholesome package, brought to you by Caravan, Altitude and One Drum. Date: 20th February, 2021 (Saturday) For Bookings: 03215728687 03200810601 Travel Itinerary: - Departure from Islamabad to Mangla. It is a 3 hours travel via Grand Trunk Road, also known as Sarak-e-Azeem. (GT Road is the oldest and the longest major road of Asia, built by Sher Shah Suri in the 16th century and is almost 3800kms long.) - Arrival at Mangla Sports Club – almost 7kms away from Mangla city. - Visit Ramkot fort – 12kms from Sports Club. This fort is only reachable through boats. (Ramkot Fort is an ancient fort situated in AJK, beside the Mangla Dam. It was built by the Gakhar Sultan in 1186. Three sides of the hilltop are surrounded by the Jhelum River, which falls into the huge reservoir of Mangla Dam.) - Lunch will be at Mangla Sports Club: Live BBQ. - After lunch, a 2 hours’ long session of DRUM CIRCLE & MEDITATION will be conducted by ONE DRUM on a raft. The raft will be floating on water amidst Mangla Dam, roughly 1km away from the resort. - Back to the resort after sunset. - Back to the transport vehicles.
