Vinyl of the night: Black Uhuru "Red" You bum right here and you bounce over there sponji reggae. After dancing myself clean the last 2 nights at the TV on the Radio/LCD Soundsystem double bill I need to chill the eff out. Black Uhuru to the rescue. Featuring the classic line up of Michael Rose, Duckie & Puma (their names alone are reggae AF!) and the stellar production of the incomparable Sly and Robbie, this record does not disappoint. They played a show in Berkeley last night as well and if I could clone myself I would have been in two places at once.....

Vinyl of the night: Black Uhuru "Tear it Up- Live" Guess who's coming to dinner? Black Uhuru tearing Saturday night up on the live tip. Captured at the peak of their prowess with their most formidable line up this record lives up to it's title and then some...

Vinyl of the night: Gregory Isaacs "Night Nurse" When Gregory passed reggae music lost one of it's giants. I feel so fortunate to have seen the man live and he did not disappoint. This is one of the greatest reggae albums ever. The title track gets most of the love but "Cool Down the Pace", "Material Man" and especially "Hot Stepper" (that's my jam!) lift it head and shoulders above the rest. But Jah won't let the wicked capture I, no way.....
