What resources (or tags) do you have about the treatment of animals raised for consumption in America? There's a lot of media about this out there but pretty much all of it has an agenda and it's hard to look into it on your own and find credible sources. What conclusion does a third-party examination of this that focuses on the welfare of the animals draw?
It’s not something I’m very personally aware of or involved with - I would suggest checking out @animalsustainability, since their blogger is my go-to source for agriculture information and animal welfare in farm settings.
In the "why vegan diets will kill your cat" post that went up on the website there's a note at the end that cats should not be fed excessive protein. I can see how that would happen when a cat's diet is controlled by a person, but can a wild cat (big or small) have a diet with too much protein? Do organs and non-muscle things that a cat would eat when given a whole carcass even out the diet so that it would be balanced?
I don’t... think... they’d have an issue with it? Because they’d naturally be able to self-regulate, and they’d also be eating the gut contents that would help balance it. Let’s bounce this one to @animalsustainability and see what they think.
