So a girl from my hometown area (Spartanburg, SC) was caught shoplifting a *very* small amount of sexy stuff and it is national news.

Don't for a second forget why this is everywhere. This is a part of shaming young women for their sexuality while also fetisizing it.

Based on the description of what she stole, she *may* have reached the $50 mark? And only because she also stopped by Victoria's Secret and their shit is overpriced. If she stole $50 worth of anything else - video games, Bath and Body Works, those creepy Precious Moments dolls - this wouldn't even be local news much less plastered all over the internet.

But because it was sex toys and it was a teen girl, this 17 year old is being shamed by an entire nation. Full name. Picture. Description of items stole. Places like the NY Daily News and SourceFed picking it up for clicks. That's bullshit.

That's disappointing as fuck. Dear girl - I'm sorry our society isn't better.

I rarely get hate-reblogged except for on one link I shared months ago that suggests that Grindr has pulled back the curtain on the really gross symptoms of white cis male homosexuality, in that overt racism and ableism and fat shaming is played off as sexual preferences. ....so disappointing. This. This is why I need the ability to turn off reblogs on certain posts.
