                                             ANNOUNCEMENT

As you all might have noticed, activity has been slow lately. Both Aishah and I would like to thank everyone who has kept it active these last few months, but since we're a little stumped on what events we could still plan in without it becoming repetitive and because motivation has also been lacking lately, we have decided that it is time to close The Manic Heart.

This will happen on the 16th of May, a little past our third anniversary. People will have time until then to wrap up any ongoing plot. We will not be accepting new members into the group.

It's not a decision we have taken lightly, but the fact of the matter is that we haven't been getting a lot of new members lately to bring in something new and with some characters having been around for a long time and us running out of plot ideas for the board, we felt like it was time for a fresh start. 

What does this mean?

After TMH has closed, we are opening a new board.

It's still crime based, but in a different location and the plot baseline will be different.

It will be a chance for anyone still wanting to RP together (and with us as admins) to start anew. New characters, new plots, new backgrounds.

Anyone who wishes to bring the character they've been RPing in Manic there, is very much allowed to do so, on the condition that the backstory gets adapted to the new plot! 

This also goes for any relationships that may have developed in TMH. You're allowed to apply with pre-existing relationships, as long as they fit into the new plot!

Last but not least, I want to thank each and everyone of you for the amazing time you've given us here. It's been an absolute pleasure and we hope to see you on the new board. Links to it will follow soon! If you wish to speak to any of us, (Enya or Aishah) please don't hesitate to contact us on our personal AIMs or even on the main inbox!

Attention to all members!

Sometimes when real life decides to drags us to the ground and bury us alive, muses also tend to be on the down low and inactivity occurs. Trust us, we both know it's difficult and trying especially when you do replies with little or no muse at all. 

However! Having said that, we appreciate it if you inform us of your absence. We don't bite, we won't scold you. If you need a hiatus, we will gladly give you one. Some of you have personal issues as to why you can't be on regularly and we have accepted and understood those reasons. The key here is communication and both of us appreciate that truly. If you don;t have AIM, contact us via the main's inbox. If you can't, perhaps you have friends in the rp as well and they too can communicate to us for you! Either way, if you can't be around for some reason or another, we just need some form of communication. 

Just to remind everyone, here are our inactivity / hiatus rules:

Inactivity limit without a notice posted on OOC blog or main's inbox is 2 weeks.

Hiatus limit is 2 months. (Maximum is 3 months although your reason must be reasonable. Beyond that, we are forced to post an unfollow and reopen the FCs no matter the reasons)

A member who fails to notify the main about inactivity or if they need a hiatus extension etc after the given time frame, will have their character(s) unfollowed. 

Enya and I have discussed and we have to come to an agreement of introducing the 3 strike rule for members.

What is the 3 strike rule?

Each member has 3 chances in inactivity. 

A strike -- when a member fails to notify the main within the time frame and gets unfollowed. 

Once this happens for 3 times without any valid reasons, the member will not be allowed into the group any longer.

Hello everyone! 

Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays! As discussed, we'll be having a writing prompt for the upcoming holiday, Christmas! Since this is a significant holiday, we want you to write a headcanon self para on how your character reacts to this holiday or something significant that has happened during the holiday in their past and how it has affected them in the long run! The length of this self doesn't matter.

Participating in this writing prompt is optional but it will be lovely to read how everyone's characters feel about Christmas!

Manic Plot Day will start soon

But you'll have an entire day to post and snag plots, so hopefully we'll get some activity! Last few days have been a bit slow.

All Members, Please Read (and Like this post once you have)

Lately, we've been noticing a bit of a lack of variety on the dash. It's not that noticeable yet, but we are noticing it which is why I'd like to bring it to attention. 

Aishah has already addressed the issue partially by making that post in the OOC blog asking for members to not limit interactions to ship partners or already existing connections. We've noticed more manic starters already, and we're really grateful for that! Still, the issue still stands and I want everyone to stay conscious of it too.

If you notice yourself RP'ing too much with the same person, try and make an effort to post a starter and get some interactions in with others as well. Keep up to date with the replies you still owe and don't leave people hanging in favor of only replying to that one person. If you're feeling unsure about RP'ing with new people as opposed to the people you are already comfortable with, we admins are always here to listen and help you out. Both Aishah and I have 4 characters each, each with their own connections, -- we will always be able to give you an opportunity to expand on your connections!

Don't be afraid to approach people either, via PM or by adding them on AIM or Skype!

Another thing beside that, which I wanted to touch on is the upsurge we've had lately of a certain type of interaction. Now we don't mind 'texting' or short gif chats and we completely understand if you love those type of interactions, but again we try and strive for variety. Like I said in my post with those meme replies, if you see that the dash is for example getting taken over by one certain type of interaction, try interjecting some other types as well. Again, make starters (including open para starters!). Approach people. Do some other replies and then get back to that interaction.

Honestly guys, Aishah and I really don't want to start PM'ing people individually telling them how to RP because we try not to police, and it personally makes me feel like an asshole, but at the same time I feel like I should remind everyone that joining a group RP means you commit to interacting with as many people in that group as possible in as many ways as possible. If you find yourself uncomfortable doing that or you don't know how to proceed, come to us. If on the other hand you just don't feel like making the effort, perhaps Manic isn't really something for you.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST, to try and promote our manic plots again, and get everyone familiar with that concept as well as promoting paras and diverse interactions, we are going to have a manic plot day this weekend (either Saturday or Sunday). I will make a seperate announcement on that sometime during the week!

Sometime next week, I will be doing an activity check, including PM'ing some of the accounts on semi-hiatus of which we haven't heard in a while to see when or if they are going to return. Most are still in the clear, to those of whom I haven't seen that much activity the past week, please contact the main if you want to be put on hiatus.
