My Warden is not a nice person.
She’s not wholly evil but the more I play Dragon Age: Origins I realise that my warden, Ash Mahariel, isn’t a nice person.
She’s only nice when it suits her purposes, and her purposes (alongside this whole stop the Blight thing) is to prove to everyone that elves are better than them, Sure she will give money to the homeless dwarves, because it proves that elves are more generous than the dwarves of Orzammar, she will also however suggest to a dwarf to leave her baby in the Deep Roads. (Which is evil I admit.) It helps that she has expert coercion. She can persuade anyone into anything.
She will butter up nobility if she needs them for her cause and insult/accuse them if she doesn’t. Her retaliation against the realm’s racism against elves is somewhat justified but she takes it to an extent where she is only openly nice to everyone, if that everyone is a clan of elves.
I’m trying to work out how she thinks about her companions. So it’s not too surprising that she gravitated towards Zevran, who also makes a point of flouting social taboo. I think they had a purely sexual relationship before whoops it appears we’ve fallen in love. I imagine they both denied it for a bit and then realise it hurt a lot less just to come out with the feelings.
As for the others. Ash has a lot of respect for Wynne. Wynee reminds her of her Keeper, and she has a very Keeper like air. She will behave a little better around Wynne too.
Ash bears Morrigan, Morrigan is too openly disagreeable. To the likes of Ash who prefers to manipulate not just openly disagree, Morrigan is useful but a bit grating.
Alistair... I can’t work out how Ash feels about Alistair. I’m gradually liking Alistair more but I’m not sure Ash is.
Ash doesn’t like Leilana, who made an unintentionally racist remark about elves and Ash hasn’t brought her on a quest since.
I’m only 25% through the game so those are all the companions I have at present (despite the fact I’ve been playing for 29 hours!)
