Idk if I am low on empathy but I could not bring myself to bad for Jere AT ALL. He kept dumping his feelings and manipulating everyone around him. That last call he had with Belly and his comment to Conrad afterward (absolutely fuming!)
Neither 😭 the way he spoke to Laurel when she went to check on him? and how he switched up so quickly over the phone to Belly? ew
I rewatched episode 1 of s2 and realised Simon only messaged Marcus to ask for help because he had no one else who could help him. His support network consists of his two teenage friends and no one else.
Simon is constantly trying to protect his mother from the harsh realities of his and Sara's lives.
His father is out of the picture. People who become addicts and alcoholics almost always have a history of childhood trauma, usually (but not always) because of their parents. This explains why Micke's parents aren't a part of Simon and Sara's lives.
And of course Linda's family is scattered on several continents, as is often the case with people who has escaped persecution, societal collapse, war and/or poverty.
And again, it underscores how vulnerable Simon is.
oh god. im exactly like everyone else
Sometimes I think about how my dad raised me to measure my self worth by my perceived moral goodness and that his way of disciplining me was to tell me I was a bad person and. Yikes.
Can my body stop using my legs to get what it wants
