Manmadestars Now Kaleidoscope-oceans
Life Lesson
When I was younger, my grandmother coaxed me into entering a national competition for basketball. The competition was simple enough, make the most free throws out of the other competitors. (Free throws are one of the hardest things to succeed at in basketball. You have no momentum and you're head on with the basket rather than at an angle.) Free throws were my biggest insecurity as a player, but I made it to the national finals. I took five practice shots and they were all nothing but net, but when it came time to compete, I missed every shot. I flew back home where on the plane, I beat myself up. My grandmother just looked at me and said. 'I got you into this knowing it's your biggest insecurity as an athlete. But, you draw your strength from insecurity.' I sit here now, with self inflicted scars on my body, gained weight and a surplus of self hate. I will draw my strengths from my insecurities and I will be the athlete, the friend, the student, the person that goes beyond expectations. To this day, I can hear her voice and I owe her everything.
So I'm perfectly "healthy" My body goes numb and limp and starts to tremor. Fucking great.
Ahh. She hasn't gotten up yet. She's going to be rushed or late to school. I can't wait until we're moved in together so I can wake her up on time.
