OH man, can I get in on this hair advice?? I have dark/medium brown hair and I want to dye it like a dark plum color, but I don't want to bleach it :0 Someone told me that the best thing to do would be to use a really dark blue because my hair is a tiny bit auburn and that it would fade out to the color I want, but I don't know anything about hair and that sounds kind of weird to me!

if you're going for a dark color, you don't have to bleach!

the only time you would have to bleach to put a funky color in your hair is if your hair was super dark brown/black. because the dye would take, it just wouldn't look anything like the swatch? it would just have the pigment.

but for you, medium brown you could do dark plum no problem.

and actually, if you're looking for dark plum, if you can get your hands on this stuff, holy macrel, it's is so awesome, and so pigmented!!! jeez, I had it in my hair for OVER A MONTH before I dyed over it and it hadn't faded at ALL. which is SUPER rare for a demi permanent. they also have a red in that brand which, if you mixed it with the purple, would be the exact color you want.

also, if you have a Sally's near you, a hair dye brand called Age Beautiful just came out with a super awesome color called Darkest Plum Brown and it is the cooooolest purple. they don't have any pictures of it up on the website yet, though.

What store and city? Maybe we have some followers that can come and 'bug' you. =P But hmm My Favorite read will always be the Dark Avengers, so if you haven't already go ahead and give it a look. Also try the age of X! oh and if you read Dark Avengers you gotta check out Dark X-Men!
