So far this (plus an additional medium honey super from Amazon, but basically the same one with the window on the side) is what I have bought for the bees. I have assembled the Amazon hives, the ones from Mann Lake should be arriving soon. The bee suit that came with the BeeCastle kit is very thin, I bought separate suits that I will make another post about later. The other tools seem to be good quality though. The hive boxes are heavy and coated in wax, which I was not really expecting though I did see it in the descriptions when I went back and checked. I don't think you can paint the wax coated ones but the ones from Mann Lake should be plain so after they are assembled I will paint the outsides of them. I do wish I had done a bit more research before I started buying things, I might have still gotten the BeeCastle starter kit for all the tools it comes with, but I probably would have gotten all my other hive parts from Mann Lake to begin with. Once it comes in though I will have a better feel for quality.
