in the steam quest au would ross immediately be suspicious of brian because that guy was a little to quick to try and make friends. brian knows ross doesn't trust him but neither of them can really sell out the other to dan without any proof so they just kinda have this standoff going on while dan just thinks how loucky he is to have two nice companions - au anon
I dunno Ross is pretty oblivious when he wants to be. But maybe he’d have a weird gut feeling about the guy. And he doesn’t wanna tell Danny because, well, Ross isn’t necessarily the best judge of character, considering what an insufferable asshole he can be sometimes. Danny might assume he’s just trying to play a trick on him or something.
And Brian can’t bring up that he doesn’t trust Ross because that would set off immediate red flags in Danny’s mind. I mean, someone you just met trying to turn you against the guy you’ve known pretty much all your life? sounds a little fishy, doesn’t it? So they have a sort of stalemate.
Neither one really trusts the other, but they’re both trying to keep Danny close. Obviously Brian doesn’t have the best intentions, but Danny doesn’t need to know that.
