This is an update for people who didn't get the Floornight emails (you didn't miss much).
To get a sense of context, Floornight Chapter 33 (currently on AO3) explains how a key "anti-shadow" (see last chapter) was created by Nudge. In Ch. 34 (on AO3) we learn that the shadow has now been destroyed, and in Ch. 35 (still on AO3) I explain how the last part of the plot unfolded, starting with what Homulilly created. In Chapter 36, I discuss the implications of these events.
In the early chapters of Floornight there's some confusion, since I'm trying to write everything in parallel instead of chronological order, and also trying to make the reader feel like they are reading some combination of the blog and the story which is very different from "writing the story chronologically." (I mean, in a way, this is a huge lie – it is in fact a weird mixture of stuff, and the fact that one can discern some sort of internal consistency is largely because when we read the blog we just assume it's unified enough in time, which it isn't.)
The next few Floornight chapters should resolve this confusion. Chapter 9 (currently on AO3) will conclude the previous set of events. Then, in Chapter 10 (currently on AO3), a new character will enter the scene which will cause some confusion, and we will have to wait for Chapter 11 (currently on AO3), the start of a new section, for this to be resolved. After that, I think I will be able to write Chapter 12 (currently on AO3) fast enough to be finished before the end of May, at which time there will be another hiatus, since I'm planning to go on a little trip. Then in early July, I will start updating regularly again, and should finish Chapter 33 in time for the 6/9 meeting.
