So @onenicebugperday I don't need you to ID this little baby but I HAD to show you them. Found them on our outdoor trashcan and I relocated them to our hibiscus plant since tomorrow is trash day.

Ive had you ID mantises here before (northeastern-ish oklahoma) so I'm gonna assume its a carolina mantis like the others.

They are very fast. A very good baby.

The baby Mantis are molting today! They have doubled in size coming out of their old skin. This is considered their 2nd instar.

Decided to let my last mantis free outside. She just wasn't thriving in captivity. It was very cool hatching them. Next year I'll order later in the year so I can release them sooner.

Ok, so I'm a first time mantis owner, and Fish was showing signs of molting yesterday, so I was freaking out because molting can be very dangerous. I made sure the humidity is right and everything, but it's still scary. ANYWAYS I went to bed with the idea that maybe I'm being paranoid and maybe they aren't molting yet. So I woke up to seemingly two mantids in the cup, but I'm not that stupid, my baby molted!! I am so proud of Fish.

I present to thee: Lurien the Child Magnet. No, he doesn't get why the kids follow him around, but they do from who knows where. 😆

The joke start amongst my friends and I when Lurien started acting like a dad every time I wrote him. I hope you all laugh too.
