And I’m back with another update to this fic. I’ve managed to develop enough of a backlog that assuming nothing Weird happens I’ll be back to the 1 chapter every other wednesday schedule that I’ve been meaning to keep this whole time. NaNoWriMo will let me pump those numbers up (Currently working on chapter 40, just to be clear, we’re good for a little while.)

Summary:

Geralt, Yennefer, Vilgefortz, and Brehen finally depart from Kerack and say their goodbyes. 

Next stop: Cintra!

WIP Wednesday: I follow the heart I believe in chapter 41 (which will probably need to be split, for what it’s worth)

Dea let out a belaguered sigh. "I'm not going to hang just because some spoiled child decided she doesn't want to stay in at night," the laundress hissed. "Go back, I'm begging you."

The girl went quiet. "I won't let them," she said. "I won't let mother. Just let me go, I won't tell anyone that you saw me, I won't even tell anyone that you're here."

There was silence.

"You mean that?" Dea asked. "Not a word?"

"Not a word," Silence. "But you can't be here when they notice I'm gone. You have to be gone, swear it."

"I swear it," Dea replied. "Go."

There was a mumbled thanks, then a figure appeared from within the laundry, dressed  as a boy with the most recognizable thing being the ashen grey braids that had been carefully tucked up within a cap. The person glanced back over her shoulder, and almost as soon as she was past the castle walls, broke into a sprint out of sight.

She ran straight past Geralt and didn't even seem to notice him.

She smelled like elderflowers.

So there was a slight delay in getting this chapter posted and that’s my fault, my sleep schedule is garbage. So sorry about the extra day of waiting. 

Aside from that, this miniature arc (and a lot of this story in general, actually) draws heavily on the events of Season of Storms. The only things you really need to know from that book are who Viraxas and Ildiko Breckl are. They’re the king and queen of Kerack who took the small kingdom over via a violent coup.

Chapter summary:

Geralt, Yennefer, and Dandelion get a chance to catch up in Kerack and a harebrained scheme is conceived between the three of them. 

Also, Yennefer likes holding Geralt’s hand. A lot. Not that she’d admit to it.

Day 5 of Witcher Bows and Arrows. Prompt was “promise”. I have nothing interesting to say. 

Summary:

The Trial of the Grasses looms, and the knowledge of what's likely to come plagues both Geralt and Eskel's minds. They try to find some small comforts in each other, trying to decide on things to do should they both survive.

If they both survive.
