“Goodbye, Felguérez”. This Monday I woke up to the news that one of my favourite contemporary and abstract Mexican artists had died of COVId-19. Manuel Felguérez was 91. I took this photo of part of one of his small sculptures at his last exhibition last February (and he was still quite active: there were new works he’d done specially for it the year before), at MUAC, in Mexico City. I will always appreciate and be thankful for his art. Oh, and you can visit his museum online (which is physically in Zacatecas, the state where he was born): I’ve been able to go twice and I’ll return every chance I get. It is amazing not only for his work, but the museum itself, which was built in the 18th century as a seminar and then became a prison: www.museodearteabstracto.com. RIP, Maestro Felguérez. I will miss you, and thanks for your art. #manuelfelguerez #abstract #abstractart #abstractphotography #igtoday #instadaily #bestshot #igers #igsworld #photooftheday #instalike #instagood #igs_world #mexico_maravilloso #mexigers #mextagram #igersmexico #ig_mexico #popyacolour #rainbow_wall #pocket_colors #metal #metalart #visitMexico #vive_mexico #metalbeauty https://www.instagram.com/p/CBSC_zvpu2F/?igshid=1t16962c5ud7f
