Magia Record Headcanon: Mikage and Riko's future

After several years, Kanagi steps down as leader of the magical girls of East Kamihama and passes the torch to Mikage and Riko.  The two opt to colead, just as Yachiyo and Mifuyu once did the magical girls of West Kamihama.  They divide their responsibilities, with Mikage overseeing Daito while Riko oversees Kousho, but as co leaders they still reach out to each other and discuss any situation before making a decision.  The two make perfect foils to each other, as Mikage has the ambition to take risks and get things done, while Riko tends to be more cautious and think through the potential consequences of any action taken; together they make a perfect team.

As time goes on, Riko begins running her family’s bento shop, and has learned from her parents how to prepare the food that they sell.  Taking a page out of Ashley’s book, she has also dipped her toes into being an influencer, with a focus on food preparation.  Ashley, Manaka, Tsumugi, the Yakumo sisters, Konoha, Leila, Yachiyo, Tsuruno, and Rabi are among her first followers, as well as her old babysitter, whose child has grown up hearing stories about the days that Riko and the babysitter spent together and so wants to be just like Riko.  Riko gifts them her old whale-shaped knife when the kid is old enough. Himika is one of the first new employees she hires.

Sometime later, Mikage takes over the Tomorrow Shop, and consults Mitama and Riko for advice on running a business, which leads to her dealing grief seeds to magical girls from behind the counter when necessary, and eventually she expands it into a much larger store.  As a teenager, she models herself after her sister, but is significantly less flirtatious, not to mention better at cooking thanks to Riko, and the children that frequent the shop often come to her for advice.  A surprising regular is Mitsune, who thanks Mikage for preventing Jun’s sanctuary from closing down and has created an online homepage for the shop.

Magitober 2022 Catch-up

I’m really behind on these, but I’m still drawing them, so! Batch post time!

Also I actually scanned these in like a responsible person, but they’re still in my sketchbook. I’m trying to use up the pages, and I’ve only got four left >:)

Day 2 - Patrol Team

I ended up going with my flame team, ‘cause it was the team I had active at the time, I’d just missed recording my current all elements team. This was the first time I’d drawn Himika, Karin, or Shizuka, so hopefully y’all can tell who’s who.

[Skipping Day 3 ‘cause ahahaha I can’t even draw normal Witches, let alone make one. Sorry.]

Day 4 - Favorite Homescreen Outfit

Obviously it’s gonna be Aimi’s winter outfit, though Tsuruno’s Hikoboshi outfit and Masara’s winter outfits are close seconds. And yes, I did actually draw out the cables. I’m currently working on a pattern reproduction of her scarf and hat, stay tuned!

Day 5 - Folklore of Zero

My favorite faction! Since I still haven’t pulled her (goddamn you f4 for the anniversary gatcha,) I drew Rabi! Err, well, I tried. Her pose is a smidgen off, and I know I didn’t draw her war bonnet correctly at all, but hey, an attempt is an attempt. Sorry, Rabi.

Day 6, AU, is gonna be skipped for now, ‘cause just like last year, I’ve got something larger planned for that one. See y’all soon with Day 7!

Himika Mao edit! I really like the baggy pants - seeing as Sora, Roxas and Ventus in KH all wear them - so I thought it’d look good on her too. After staring at her design for so long, I’ve come to realize: WHY DOES SHE HAVE A HOLSTER??? She doesn’t use it in combat does she??

God, I hate the magical girl outifts that show panties like Reira's and Mao. It's disgusting.

In Reira’s defense, her outfit seems to be slightly modeled after oriental dancers, (Kinda like a Shantelike outfit), so it’d make sense she has those panties, Mao thought....not so much, but like I said, who do you think it’s playing these games unfortunately?

The ones who’d sell their cars to get enough summoning things to get the girls they want.
