The Maple Aioli on these Breakfast Burgers is the perfect mix of sweet and savory. The maple aioli gives the sausage and eggs a rich, slightly sweet flavor that makes this burger a great breakfast treat.
Ingredients: 4 breakfast sausage patties. 4 hamburger buns. 4 slices of cheddar cheese. 4 large eggs. 1/4 cup maple syrup. 1/4 cup mayonnaise. 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard. 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar. Salt and pepper to taste. Cooking oil for frying.
Instructions: Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle over medium-high heat. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and 2 tablespoons of maple syrup to make the maple aioli. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside. Cook the breakfast sausage patties on the grill or griddle until they are cooked through and have a nice char, about 4-5 minutes per side. During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and allow it to melt. While the sausage patties are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until they are lightly browned. In a separate pan, heat some cooking oil over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the pan and cook them to your desired level of doneness. Season with salt and pepper. Assemble the breakfast burgers: Spread a generous amount of maple aioli on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a sausage patty with melted cheese on top of the aioli. Add a cooked egg on top of the sausage patty, and drizzle with a little more maple syrup. Finally, top with the other half of the toasted bun. Serve the Breakfast Burgers with Maple Aioli immediately and enjoy!
