During the Hyborian age this was what the world looked like, and if you think this map looks weird it’s because how Howard came up with the world before the geological theory of tectonic plates was well known and also the country’s and cultures in this era are roughly based on historical cultures like for example, to the east lays Khitai, which is based on the khitan empire of China and to the west is the Pictish Wildness, with the people of the land being loosely based on the Native Americans and the name “Pict” depriving from the ancient Celtic people known as the Picts. And for Cimmeria, the name comes from the classical era people known as the Cimmerians and the people being based on the celts who lived in Celtic Ireland, Scottland, and Britain.
