A multitude of indie rock superstars share a certain career trajectory, i.e. they appear to have an important album in their opuses that gave them the following status. Yeah Yeah Yeahs, for instance, have Fever To Tell, which provided them with the fame they continue to have. Unsurprisingly, the platter was their debut, many of their peers had their greatest successes with their inaugurations in the form of the discs, but Yeah Yeah Yeahs managed to join those who didn't falter, when they had to follow-up their colossal introductions. Still, the disc does contain something the later LPs don't, because Yeah Yeah Yeahs are still rough around the edges here. Still, you can already hear their mastery of mixing different form into their own style.
