Heyoo tumblr, with all the shit going down on twitter I thought I'd make an effort to be a lil more active here. Here's a fun hair update!

And in other exciting news, my legal name change went through, so huge thank you to everyone who bought prints!! The funds are def helping with all the document changes and whatnot.

I kinda miss being active on tumblr to be honest :UU 

Twitter is just not the best tool for artists, (and its so bogged down by sources of world-and-news-related anxiety) and instagram has always been terrible for me. idk. I know this site isn’t super active any more, but I think I’ll try making more of an effort here.

wait uhhh just to clarify. That last painting I posted is not newt & hermann. They’re both newt. It’s a kind of mindfucky newt/precursor!newt introspective bullshit thing. Yall know im 100000billion% here for newt/herm, true OTP and all that, but that’s not it this time 8^)));

I was wondering, I used to use masking fluid many years ago and I'd always end up ruining the specific masking fluid designated brushes no matter how hard I tried avoiding that (tho idk if I was good enough at cleaning them lmao). actually I have that same problem w/ oil painting now, like I've bought specific soap and gadgets to try to clean the brushes and they end up getting ruined anyways which makes me usually go for cheaper brushes. ANYway I was wondering if u avoid this w masking fluid or

(2/2) if you just use specific masking fluid brushes that get ruined over time? for oil painting it’s difficult bc there’s some brushes that are prob better for oil painting but it’s so freaking hard for me to avoid them inevitable getting ruined :/ idk if u use oils ever though. watercolor is more my medium too

Hi! unfortunately, I’ve found that there’s no avoiding the destruction of masking fluid brushes. :( I don’t use oils, so I can’t weigh in on that. For masking fluid, I buy the cheapest brushes possible and replace them super often. It’s not ideal, but I haven’t found any way to salvage these brushes, lol

2017 wasn’t my most productive year ever, but I’m very happy with what I managed to finish! Here are some snippits. I was v self indulgent with what I decided to paint, and embraced using my favorite colors, hence all the blues and pinks, lol. I also practiced being more patient with my work, focusing on details and trying to make a better finished product, rather than racing myself to the end of a piece.

This year I’m definitely going to try being more dynamic! And more surreal! MORE GAY!! And maybe branch out my colors a little......maaayybee. lol  (watercolors and gouache)

Hi! I love your cosplay and I'm super pumped that you answered an ask about where the jackets from! I so want one, but I was wondering what the quality of the jacket is? It looks pretty well made but that's always hard to tell in pics.

Hello! I can def attest to the quality. This was my first go at ordering a custom made garment, so I was a little nervous about how it would turn out, but when it showed up I was THRILLED! The leather is super soft, stitching on point, it’s lined very nicely, and it even has secret pockets on the inside. :> I gave them my own custom measurements and it fits wonderfully. \o/Here are some closeup pics for you!
