So I’ve been wanting boinks, specifically the ones with the marble inside for a while, but I couldn’t find a store that sold them. I did, however, find cat toys at Target that are basically Boinks. It was $2 for a pack of four, which by itself is awesome. I then wondered if I could make a marble Boink from one, and I did! Below are the steps if anyone wants to make one.
I took some dental floss and tied it really tight around both ends so it bunched up into a very tight circle that was touching itself. Then I basically light the ends on fire until it melted and then ran it under some cold water. Once it was cool I just cut off the floss and bam, basically free marble boink.
My original idea was to just crimp the ends flat with some pliers to get smooth edges, but I couldn’t get it to melt enough like that, though I’m sure you could. I’d recommend doing this outside since you’re basically burning plastic.
