Jack makes a point of waiting until Brock is reading to get frisky with him, and then doesn’t let him take them off.

The kind that are drawers you pull out: Simple. Beautiful. Elegant. The sort of ease of use that you do not even notice until it’s gone.

The kind that have doors that want to automatically close and take your fingers off with them: Bad. Why. And while the second shelf at the back does superficially give you more storage space, it means whenever you want something from the back shelf, you have to play high stakes flammable solvent tetris to get it.

I remember those! they were around briefly (?) in the UK when I was little

Cool! In Australia, they just disappeared. For years. But now they’re back! (I’m kinda tempted to buy one, for nostalgia reasons.)

I live with someone for whom "clutter" is "anything that's not mine/I don't understand why it's there" on any surface, so yeah, I feel you.

That sucks! Mine is that I had a toxic roommate who judged everything I did/said/owned until I basically whittled myself down to nothing in an effort to get her to stop. Part of getting back from that means that I buy new things occasionally. Things that are basically useless except for the fact that they, well, “spark joy” in me. So while I’m sure I’m following Marie Kondo in some way, and I don’t mind that, minimalism evangelists give me hives.
