I love how the show slowly unfolds and shows us how Steven was created, how much of him is a reflection of the only happy memories of Marc's childhood, breaking down Steven's life more and more.

A few examples could be:

-Gus: the one finned fish that Steven loved, later discovering that his love for this precise fish comes from the memory of Randall's drawings.

-"Laters, gators": this cute, childish goodbye that I personally adored. Really the embodiment of his character, it's something that Marc and his mother shared as a kid, as a matter of fact we mostly only see Steven say it while on phone with his "mother".

And well... of course Steven Grant.

Even his name is taken by Marc's favorite childhood film, the one he shared with his brother- which is something quite normal in people with DID to form new identities based on characters, and it also makes sense because of its direct link to the trauma that led Marc to developing DID in the first place.

Turning the pain from the memory and giving back to Marc the happiness of the film, and of his now ruined childhood, from the memories of the brother, erasing the incident.

Any insight as to why bartra has been left out of the past two lineups? :(

Insight? Oh god, the pressure! I shall try my best! 

From where I stand, he should be a regular starter, he deserves more playtime—he has proven himself. I don’t know what angle Lucho is seeing, however his use of Masche seems to be the inhibitor of Marc’s presence as a usual starter. Masche is my lord and savior, but Lucho’s use of Masche fluctuates (defensive midfielder, center-back, body guard/warrior/muscle….haha)  which prevents Marc from being a consistent starter. I think it comes does to how and when Masche is being used. Maybe this is all laffy-taffy, cotton candy nonsense, but anyhow, that’s how I see it :)
