2011 Domaine Marcel Deiss Engelgarten

Oh boy. I love me some Marcel Deiss because his juice is AWESOME. This is no exception. And this guy could even use 5-10 more years resting in the angel garden. Honeysuckle, chrysanthemums, gooseberries, golden apples, citrus notes, and tiny pebbles on the nose. Honeysuckle on the palate with pears, apples, gooseberries. citrus, chrysanthemum oil (my humom uses that in her hair 🇯🇵) and stony minerality on the palate. Really lovely now but this wine could be truly killer in 5 years or more.

2008 Marcel Deiss Engelgarten Alsace 1er Cru 

"Angel Garden" indeed! Sauternes on the nose. Honeysuckle, cashew. Structured like a Sauternes but stops short of letting the sweetness overwhelm. High acid. Beautifully round body. Elegantly viscous. Can age a LOT more.
