A few years ago it was Glen who played for Newcastle United at St James’ Park. Now it could be Santiago’s time if he applies himself. Glen comes from a very different generation. In his day the wages were significantly lower than in the Premier League era and when his career was cut short by injury he bought a garage to make money. If Santiago can establish his career then he should have no such money troubles for the rest of his life. It’s a world away from his poor upbringing.
