on the topic of the iowa game, what are your thoughts on the screen they called against aaliyah? i apologize if you’ve answered this before, im kind of new to tumblr. but watching it in real time i was kind of just dumbfounded. especially with all the help iowa had been getting from the refs throughout the tournament, it was shocking but it wasn’t at the same time you know? for me it was kind of just an “im disappointed but not surprised” moment.

okay imma answer this but i don’t wanna hear shit about it

1. the foul itself - questionable. i’m leaning towards it being an illegal screen tho

2. because the foul was questionable, and it was at that moment in the game, don’t fucking call it.

3. do y’all know how many moving screens there are in a game?? that don’t get called?? i’d put my money on 8 at least. every game. you wanna call a moving screen, be my fuckin guest. but call the rest of them too. the reason they aren’t called is because they’re pretty hard to catch. lowk you have to be LOOKING FOR a moving screen in order to call it.

4. are you fucking kidding me bro. who hired these officials. you’re down to the wire in a final four game with paige bueckers and caitlin clark on either side of the floor. you don’t call a foul on a game deciding play.

5. i don’t wanna hear any “rules are rules” bullshit, because if you watch basketball, you know that sometimes, they’re not!!! and if rules are gonna be rules, they better be fuckin rules for all fuckin 40

SC was undefeated and finna win no matter who they played against because they team was stacked and on demon time the whole season just because they beat cc and her team of bums doesn't mean that the people in charge haven't been putting their money on cc and writing the script for their new white hope. They simply hit a wall on what they could write and then decided not to write anything at all and not highlight SC win and the amazing season they had

this pissed me off too

caitlin clark is a generational talent good lord like she truly truly is incredible

but you’re right dude, south carolina and dawn have been on fucking demon time all season. been scary hours in columbia 24/7, 365.

there’s smth to be said about a majority black team with a black coach completing an undefeated season of straight hoops and alllll the attention being on the fact that the white girl didn’t get her ring

the fouls were crazy in the uconn vs iowa game esp in the second half. they tried to do the same with south carolina in the beginning but they slowed down. it wouldn’t have been believable if the won against sc plus they got the views they wanted

this part too like i was watching that play by play before i tuned in and saw like three iowa players go to the line successively. i was like if y’all try my girl dawn with this shit…

also i think the point of it was honestly the viewership. like iowa uconn - jesus fucking christ. but iowa south carolina? america’s sweetheart vs completing an undefeated season? that’s just good fucking television like shit! i was mad as fuck and even i watched it!
