In over a hundred years of International Women’s Day celebrations, no country has achieved gender equality. And we should all be pissed about it.

A trigger warning for rape and violence against women

Today in Australia an estimated 100 000 people are marching in every capital Australian city in the March 4 Justice.

Sexual assault allegations against those in parliament have been systematically covered up and those accused protected.

Our Attorney General anally raped a sixteen year old girl who sought help from a sexual assault counsellor and reported the matter to police before committing suicide. He has the audacity to file a declamation case against the media for reporting this, our Prime Minister defends him and refuses to hold an independent inquiry nor strip him of his job. He still serves in parliament without investigation or any accountability.

This is only one of many allegations to be revealed this year and comes after a former staffer, Brittany Higgins, was raped in the defence ministers office, this was also covered up by the government.

Women are marching for an end to violence against women, and against this conservative government who enables and commits this violence.

#respectwomen #March4Justice I had so many sign ideas... it was tough deciding which signs will be bold. I drew this after seeing an article on how women were mistreated in politics. I kinda wish Medusa existed, so if anyone abuses a woman, call Medusa -give her the details of the offender and she'll pay him a visit. For this picture I've selected my positive role model female characters Trixi, Pink and Vicky.
