MARCH DANCES on LoJoWerkz For years I regularly posted clips from my brilliant DANCE FAM on my social media pages. I still collect jaw-dropping clips & short films as they glide across my radar screen but finding the time to prep and edit them for posting has been very difficult for the past 18-24 months as I’ve been into a deep season of writing. A DANCE A DAY - DREW DOLLAZ: THE JUST AND THE BLIND —- HAD to make this the first share! One of the most powerful dance films I’ve seen in a very long time. Brooklyn-born pioneer of FLEX and longtime TuTchT/LoJoFam ANDREW “DREW DOLLAZ” BOYCE visits his young teen self (M’Kai Joseph with Oakland Emcee Ajai Kasim.) in this 60 sec excerpt of the MUST SEE short film, The Just and the Blind. It is set to the Spoken Word brilliance of Marc Bamuthi Joseph and scored with a hard-edged tenderness by Daniel Roumain. The cinematography and direction is by the 3-man collective of cinematic geniuses known the world over for their excellence in documenting the global Street Dance scene, YAK FILMS (Yoram Savion, Kash Gaines, and Ben Tarquin.) Beginning tomorrow I’ll start dropping one a day (fingers crossed) To kick off my “A Dance A Day” I thought I’d edit a montage of choreography based on “the March”/Marching Bands.
