The thing that pisses me off the most about this site is how it doesn't let you change main blogs!!!! I haven't used marchoftheflowerchildren in like a year and yet I can only message/follow people w that blog 🙄

Hey I saw your post about the homophobic taunts against Iker and I wanted to clarify some stuff, since I'm Mexican. Mexicans have always (for like 50 or so years) chanted the infamous "puto" whenever the opposing goalkeeper kicks the ball back into the game. Puto is rarely used as a homophobic slur, it is more like another word for asshole. We've gotten a lot of shit from Fifa bc of it lately, so the Mexican football federation has been trying to stop fans from chanting it (cont.)

(Cont.) So the chant is more like an intimidation tactic, and nothing else. To be clear, I'm not saying I agree with doing it, I actually think it's tacky and that it's time to stop doing it (at least to foreign rivals who could get offended by it), but it wasn't anything personal against Iker (we actually really love him here).

ohhhh thank you for the clarification, I really appreciate that. Yeah I saw a few fans complain about it on twitter and then Marca (I believe) posted an article about it! Glad to know it’s not true and I hope fans stop using it altogether.
