Winds of Fate II - Marchutan’s Protector Quest (Weapon/Title)
This portion of the quest may prove to be one of the hardest as it depends on your access to some of the major end-game instances.
You have to gather 150 special Aether found floating only around the new faction base in the Upper Abyss. You will need to have at least 200p or higher in Aethertapping to gather from the nodes.
You will then be required to morph them (recipe sold by the NPC), and they consume 2,000 DP/morph.
You will need to gather 10 Sealed Text and 10 Cursed Text, and these are found exclusively in the final boss rooms of Sealed Danaur Mysticarium and Cursed Argent Manor respectively.
Sealed Danaur Mysticarium has unlimited cooldowns but entry is dependent on the entry fragments whereas Cursed Argent Manor resets daily, but also requiring an entry fragment for entry.
You have to obtain 3 Medal of Honour, and these are purchasable from the Conquest Reward NPC in Gelkmaros. If you thought it sounded too easy, you’re not wrong; they cost 40 Honourable Conqueror’s Mark to purchase and these can only be farmed by killing Conquest Offering mobs in the opposing faction’s zone (Inggison).
You can begin to start farming these before the patch hits to avoid the rush. You’ll need a total of 120 Honourable Conqueror’s Mark.
A straightforward mob hunting quest:
- 60 mobs from Valpura Heights, Levinshor
- 60 mobs from Wealhtheow's Keep Ruins, Kaldor
- 30 mobs from Ruins of Roah
Roah is also the new location for the elyos Upper Abyss faction base, so great care needs to be taken while hunting mobs in the area.
You will have to slay ONE of the bosses in following PVP instanced zones:
- General Varga, Kamar Battlefield
- Captain Avran, Engulfed Ophidan Bridge
- Destroyer Kunax, Idgel Dome
- Grand Commander Pashid, Iron Wall Warfront
Just winning the instance alone will not proc the quest, your group/alliance HAS TO score a successful kill on the bosses.
Similar to the previous, you will have to slay bosses but in PVE instances this time:
- Grand Commander Pashid, Eternal Bastion
- Hyperion, Infinity Shard
- Tiamat, Anguished Dragon Lord's Refuge*
*This instance is very specific, killing Tiamat in Dragon Lord’s Refuge WILL NOT proc the quest
You will have to kill them 5 times each.
As I mentioned earlier, some players will find it hard to complete the last two sections of the quest as it requires a dedicated static group/alliance. In fact, some of them are so exclusive, you probably can’t even pull a pug for it (eg. IWW).
If you have made this far, congratulations, you have completed the entire quest line and you can receive a weapon of your choice. Subsequently, you will also unlock the title quest, which is simply purchasing a holy item (prices dependent on Influence Ratio) from Pandemonium and turning it in to the NPC.
