The Marc Jacobs X Peanuts the joggers! I just bought a pair waiting for them to come to my apartment!!! :)
Im excited for The Marc Jacobs I really am. I was beyond disappointed when Marc by Marc Jacobs was shut down. I know he said it was bc it became something he didn’t want it to be and ultimately ended up being “uncool”. But as much as I adore Marc I can’t help but know that that was a cop out!
Marc Jacobs has been s u f f e r i n g financially and as a HUGE fan of the man the myth the legend THE marc Jacobs; I can’t help but hope with all my might that The Marc Jacobs will become some what of a “hype beast esque” line. Something tells me that’s the only thing that will ensure his brand will stay around for another decade.
So far, noteably, for The Marc Jacobs he revived the Redux grunge collection (the nirvana esque “heaven” design anyone?), which is a SMART move to me. Nothing gets the masses ready to spend money like feeling “vintage”. He also took Lizzobeatings (a rapper with youthful appeal) to the Met in a classic “Marc style” over the top house robe that was teaming with orange feathers. Also a smart move to me. He had her post a video at the airport of her sashay-ing through out the terminal that garnered millions of insta views. Marc Jacobs the designer needs more “hype” like that if he doesn’t want to fade into the background and eventually to nothing. He needs shoes like the one above that are going to sell out and be resold for above MSRP. That’s what the fashion world is becoming.
To finish off, as a huge fashion fan i live for Marc. I want so desperately for him to keep up with the times. We need old heads like him who sill create pretty clothes and full collections of boundary pushing clothes. Do we really want to get rid of the people like Marc and or jermey Scott and replace them with fucking supreme ? I’d rather Marc start taking supremes customers! The end.
