This is a river Ben @6organs took everyone to on my first trip to the northern most part of California, on the Markers/Sunburned Hand of the Man tour. I’d never been so far north in California. I’d never been swimming in-between giant redwoods trees. I just went swimming there last week and thought of all of us filthy animals tromping through the woods years ago, making our way there together. Sometimes Leah @wesleyleah would ride in the Sunburned van and Marc Orleans would come ride in the Markers’ car. He always had rad jams and rad stories. He would take shotgun and @spectrefolk would drive. I would sit in the back and read. Sometimes Dave Bohill would hang in the backseat with me and crack jokes. I had my first fish taco with Marc. He was always kind to me. And such a great musician. I haven’t seen him for years. I thought about him last week at the river. Thought of all of us swimming there together and how wildly long ago that was but felt how lucky I am for the community of friends I have and all the cool stuff they’ve taught me or shown me over the years. I guess I always just think everyone is fine. I’m so sorry to hear Marc is gone.
