Choose your Agrippa
just octagrippa doing octagrippas things + redrew a little bit of jacques-louis david's the anger of achilles — except it's agrippa now <3
This guy called Julius Caesar (you might have heard of him) got stabbed 23 times, leaving a power vacuum in the Roman Republic which was quickly filled by a triumvirate formed by his adopted son Octavian (aka Gaius Octavius, pictured here) and two other consuls, Marc Antony and Marcus Lepidus.
This worked for a couple of years until the three got too ambitious. Lepidus got exiled, and Octavius and Marc Antony started a civil war to control all of Rome. Enter Marcus Agrippa (pictured), a general with an impressive record and Octavian's right-hand man.
Agrippa led Octavian's forces against Mark Antony's (including the Ptolemaic kingdom, led by his wife Cleopatra, you might have also heard of her) in the battle of Actium and wiped the floor with them, allowing Octavian to become the first Roman emperor and claiming the name Augustus Caesar.
Now, were Augustus and Agrippa gay for each other? Not as far as we know, BUT historians do agree Augustus was a very handsome man that took good care of his appearance and was more frail than Agrippa, so I do think they would make a decent twink/bear power couple.
HOWEVER, there were accusations at the time that Octavian had earned his adoption by Caesar through sexual favors, which were probably political slander perpetrated by Mark Antony.
Additionally, after defeating Mark Antony and Cleopatra, the latter tried to seduce Octavian to secure a better deal for herself, it reportedly did not work on him at all
So, is it a stretch to believe these two best bros might have gotten freaky at some point? Romans did believe it wasn't gay if there was no penetration, after all.

Another agrippa
Sometimes I look at Agrippa and wonder if he realized he had the worst taste in men ever recorded
