Sad headcanon that Scott’s car was Marcus’s and that’s why he’s so protective of it.
RPM had some depressing backstories for its cast. Scott lost his big brother Marcus in an aerial battle against Venjix’s forces; Summer was a lonely rich girl whose reality check really kicked in with the death of her beloved butler Andrews out in the wasteland; and Flynn got off ‘easy’, in struggling to find a way to be a hero & earn his father’s approval until heroes were necessary due to the apocalypse.
Ziggy fell in with the cartels (yes, that’s the actual term used) until he stole medicine to give to orphans. Dillon lost his memories and gained robotic implants from being held captive by Venjix.
K, Gem, and Gemma were all essentially kidnapped as children to have their genius intellects used by the Alphabet Soup agents. It is heavily implied that all three are emotionally stunted as a result, magnified by K’s guilt and the twins’ trauma from being held captive by Venjix’s forces off-screen for a time. That is certainly one way to handle needing your characters to act younger than they are.
While tonally very different from every other season, I have to admit that RPM is well-regarded by fans for many reasons. How it handled some heavy topics, the characters (between Eka, Rose, & Adelaide, it can be argued that this is the most star-studded season), the storyline and setting, and, strangely enough, it’s also regarded as one of the funniest seasons. There is actually a great deal of humor and heart to the season; that balance probably is a large part of the season’s popularity.

Ranger Green
Scott and Ziggy had responded to an alert of Grinders at the park as you laid in your bed, thinking.
“Y/n, you up yet? Hey, you okay?” Summer asked, leaving you to nod before grabbing your shoes.
“I’m going for a walk. Call me if anything happens.” You replied, jumping over the rail to land in the ground floor, much to Dr K’s unamusement.
“Y/n?” Dillon asked but you had already walked out.
“What is up with her?” Dillon asked Summer who just shrugged at him in reply.

There was something about community gardens that felt safe to you, so stumbling across one whilst on your walk made it feel like it was destiny for you to arrive there.
You were sat on that bench for about half an hour when your morpher began to beep.
“The Rangers require assistance with Grinders and tracking an attack bot.” Dr K explained, leaving you to quickly hurry from the community garden to go find them.
“RPM! Get in gear!” You shouted as you ran, spotting the bright shades of Yellow and Blue fighting Grinders as Ranger Black spotted you.
“Sending co-ordinates of the attack bot.” Dr K announced over the comms.
///
“The attack bot is travelling north in a sub-terrain mining tunnel 28 metres below your location.” Dr K explained, leaving all six of you to look at the grass down by your feet like it was the most interesting thing out there.
“Down-morph the remote Croc Carrier Zord!”
None of you expected it to malfunction and hit a city electric tower or Dr K to order you to leave the malfunctioning Zord to attack the city so you could all stop the attack bot.
“What now, fearless leader?” Dillon asked as Scott began to zone out as flashbacks commenced.
///
“Follow me!” Scott ordered, snapping out of it as the six of you went to deal with the damaged electric tower.
“Extreme Speed, activate!” the burst of speed allowed you to grab and move several people from the range of the falling debris, until you were hurrying towards a child who had hidden under a bench.
“Hey, we gotta go-” you were cut off as the child trembled, afraid of your helmet.
“Y/n, what are you-”
Demorphing was your only option to stop the child being afraid of you as they crawled into your arms, allowing you to get them away in time.
You swallowed nervously as you spotted the bench where the child had been hidden under.
It had been crushed.
Whilst Scott was talking to Dr K, you were distracted by the child hugging you tightly.
“Y/n, you okay?” Dillon asked before he froze, spotting the child hugging you.
“Yeah, we’re good.”
///
Dr K was explaining the technology needed to control the Remote Croc Carrier Zord as Ziggy slept into his cereal as you sat eating your bowl of breakfast.
You could tell that wherever the tech flux reactor thing was, it was going to evoke a lot of memories for Scott.
Memories of before the Venjix attack.
Memories that thanks to your amnesia, you couldn’t recall.
“You’ll find that the location of the mystery signal and Ranger Red’s morpher are one in the same. Ranger Red left two hours ago to recover the flux over-thruster.”
“You just let him go? All by himself?”
“He’s team leader.” Dr K replied, leaving Dillon to growl.
“If you leave the dome now, you increase the risk of alerting Venjix and increasing Ranger Red’s chances of being detected and eliminated.” Dr K explained as she put the disc in that Scott had left.
“What is this?” Summer asked as they heard Eagle Squad on the computer.
“Air defense radio transmission from the Battle of Corinth.” Dr K explained as she continued to work at the computers.
“Scott managed to eject. Marcus didn’t.” You realised as the transmissions played.
///
“Ranger Red is compromised.”
“Wait... look, the shields are down...” Flynn pointed out, leaving Summer to pause and realise.
“The Colonel’s gone after Scott.”
///
“Rangers Blue and Yellow will go help Scott. Rangers Green, Black and Pink are required to gain control of the Croc Carrier Zord.” Dr K explained, leaving you to frown.
“I thought it just needed Green and Black.” You admitted before Scott came in over the comms.
“Black, Green, Pink, you are go for Croc Carrier sequencing.”
The three of you nodded at each other before hurrying out, leaving Dr K at the computers as the Colonel and Hicks lingered.
///
“We’re on the scene!” Dillon announced as the Croc Carrier Zord arrived, carrying Dillon’s Zord, Ziggy’s Zord and your Zord on it.
“Incoming drones!” You exclaimed as the drones began to fire down on Corinth and at the Zords.
“Initiate transformation!”
As the Croc Carrier Zord became the Megazord’s main body, Dillon and Ziggy’s Zords became the arms, leaving your Zord to reconfigure itself into the head of the Megazord.
“ValveMax Megazord!” The three of you exclaimed as the Megazord was finally formed.
“Fire!” Dillon shouted as Ziggy activated the Tail Spin.
“Go Go Power Rangers.” you mumbled under your breath as Dillon and Ziggy shouted “Power Rangers RPM!”
“This is Ranger Red, signing out!” Scott exclaimed down the comms, gaining no response from Dr K, instead from the Colonel and Hicks who spotted afterwards that Dr K had fallen asleep in her chair.
“Hey! Where did Y/n go?” Ziggy asked as the other five Rangers re-convened.
“She’ll show up eventually.” Summer replied, as she glanced at the screens showing the location of each of the morphers.
///
The community garden was quiet as you sat on the same bench as before, glancing around at the different fruits growing.
“Hi.” A small voice whispered, passing you a berry.
“Hi.” You whispered back, recognising the child from before, the child you saved from under the bench that was about to be crushed.
“Thank you.” The small child whispered, leaving you to nod as the two of you smiled at each other, eating the berries as you both sat on the bench in silence.
