"Was going to grab some pizza, maybe a couple drinks after work if you wanted to come" Marcus offered up. It had been a rather busy day and the idea of doing any more form of manual labor was not one he even wanted to consider. Pizza, beer, and then a perfectly broken in mattress at home was what was in the cards for him.

"Lav wanted to know if we could come help with some of Chloe's stuff." Marcus told his little brother. There were the things that were at Chloe and Lavender's place that would need to be sorted through. Things that Chloe had wanted to go to family in the event of her death, and the things that would go back into use for the other residents. It wasn't like it wasn't something that didn't happen all the time, but Marcus wasn't sure he was ready to see someone else wearing his sister's clothes or knowing someone else was using some other item she used to own. "If you think you can't I can tell Lavender I can do it on my own."

“You know I keep hearing people talk about how awful it was, and I’m not trying to say it wasn’t for them, but I can’t - most of them didn’t even know her. Wouldn’t even know her name if it was brought up outside of all this, and yet they’re acting all sad, saying it’s a tragedy. I even saw people crying. People that I know didn’t know her, don’t know me, or my mother. I feel like I shouldn’t be upset about all this, but I am because people are going to take my aunt’s death...her murder and somehow make it about them and their fears and agendas and I just want to be able to remember her without having their fake tears and concern thrown in my face.”

Marcus had been working for the first part of the festival before being relieved of duty by one of the other rangers. Still dressed in his uniform he started making his way through the festival, actually able to fully enjoy it now. "Faris!" he called out, lifting a hand up into the air, as he spotted his brother a little further down the area where some of the booths were set up. "Stay there. I'll come to you" he followed up and lowered his hand as he started on his way over.

"Okay so some of them burned a little, but that's okay we can just dig those into some ice cream later. Cover up the taste of burnt." Marcus said, pulling out the tray of cookies from the oven.

Avery went to pick up one of the not burnt ones and broke it in half, holding out the other half to Rose. She dunked her half into her mug of hot chocolate that had been made earlier that evening and was set at a low simmer on the stove, ready for any of them to refill their mug at any time.

"on a scale of 1 to 10 how scary do you think this is going to be?" Marcus asked as they stood in line waiting for their turn to enter one of the haunted houses offered. "The last one was a solid 5 I think."

“Would you like some help carrying those out when you’re done?” Marcus asked as he waited in line to check out behind Daivi. “I’ve only got the one item and it fits in my pocket, so I have two arms free.”

"you wouldn't happen to have a cigarette I could bum off you?" Marcus wasn't a regular when it came to smoking, but the date he'd just gotten of from had been rough. So rough he'd ended the whole thing early, which was a rarity for him, normally just sticking it out and not following up on a second.
